The contents of this document include the bylaws and the operating rules and procedures of the Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME). This document is provided to all Council and committee members, and members of the community of interest, upon request, for the purpose of guiding and directing the conduct of affairs and activities of the Council and its related committees. This document complements other CPME publications that identify specific procedures, standards, requirements, and criteria used in the conduct of the accreditation, approval, and recognition processes. All members of the Council and its committees, and staff are expected to be knowledgeable of the bylaws and rules and procedures identified in this document.

The Council updated the CPME 900, Bylaws at the October 2022 meeting to add the definition of a consultant. An additional bylaw revision approved at the meeting and eligible for adoption at the spring meeting of the council includes updating the number of representatives on the Residency Review Committee to include two representatives from the AACPM Council of Teaching Hospitals instead of one and including two at-large representatives from residency programs instead of one.
