The Council on Podiatric Medical Education (CPME or the Council) is aware of recent posts on social media and online messaging boards against the Council and its individual members. These posts are unprofessional, inflammatory, and do not serve to promote the profession. CPME commends APMA for their message of April 20 from the Board of Trustees and agrees that this negative and damaging behavior should not only cease but be publicly denounced by professional organizations and their members.

The mission of the Council is to promote the quality of graduate education, postgraduate education, certification, and continuing education. By confirming these programs meet established standards and requirements, the Council serves to protect the public, podiatric medical students, and doctors of podiatric medicine.

CPME encourages all entities within the podiatric profession to work together to create solutions for challenges within the profession.
