CPME Policy for On-Site Evaluations and the Covid-19 Pandemic

CPME recognizes that the Covid-19 pandemic continues. The following policy is for team members who have had recent exposure to Covid-19 or are exhibiting Covid symptoms within three days prior of an on-site evaluation:

  1. The team member or Chair notifies Council staff (and team Chair, if applicable) that they have been exposed to Covid-19 or are exhibiting symptoms, and agrees to participate virtually during the on-site evaluation. Any non-refundable travel expenses related to the on-site will be reimbursed by the Council.
  2. If an interviewee for the on-site evaluation other than the program director is unable to attend the visit in person due to following CDC guidelines for isolation, this interviewer will be provided the opportunity to participate virtually.
  3. If the program director is unable to attend the visit in person due to Covid-19 exposure or symptoms, the program director should identify a hospital employee who will be the on-site coordinator and manage the details of the in-person on-site evaluation. The program director will be expected to participate virtually for the on-site evaluation.

On-site evaluations may need to be rescheduled if one or more key participants is unable to attend remotely due to symptomatic illness. This decision should be made up to 24 hours before an on-site evaluation. If an on-site evaluation needs to be rescheduled, CPME will reimburse any non-refundable expenses related to the on-site evaluation for all evaluators.

All evaluators are expected to follow CDC guidelines and any hospital-specific policies in place related to Covid-19.
