REPORT OF ACCREDITATION ACTION
Effective October 22, 2016
Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine, Miami Shores, FL
At its October 2016 meeting, the Council on Podiatric Medical Education granted continued accreditation of the Barry University School of Podiatric Medicine through October 2024.
The evaluation team that conducted the on-site evaluation of the School on June 13–16, 2016 identified one area of potential noncompliance (requirement 4.D) with the expectations of the Council on Podiatric Medical Education as stated in CPME 120, Standards and Requirements for Accrediting Colleges of Podiatric Medicine. Based on a recommendation of the Accreditation Committee, the Council determined that the School’s response to the team report and presentation to the Accreditation Committee on October 19 addressed the area of potential noncompliance to the extent that it has been removed from the report and identified as recommendation 19.
The Council has requested that the School submit a progress report for CPME’s April 2017 Accreditation Committee meeting that includes updates to evaluation team recommendations 1, 6, 8–10, 14, and 19.
On-site re-evaluation of the School will be conducted no later than the spring of 2024. CPME may change the re-evaluation date to an earlier time to evaluate new concerns or issues that come to light during the review of annual reports or special reports or to assess a request for approval of a substantive modification(s).
